ACLS Instructor Course

Designed for healthcare professionals who are passionate about teaching and who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest or other cardiovascular emergencies. Ideal for instructors working in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care, and critical care settings.

The ACLS Instructor Course is an advanced, instructor-led program that builds on provider-level ACLS knowledge by focusing on:

  • Effective team dynamics and communication during resuscitation

  • Systems of care and immediate post-cardiac arrest management

  • Airway management skills and related pharmacology

  • Best practices for conducting skills testing and teaching case-based scenarios

  • Preparing and delivering successful ACLS courses following American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines

Participants will engage in large-group sessions and small-group breakout stations focused on case-based teaching, skills practice, and student assessment.

A written exam is required for course completion.

The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in all AHA courses and has developed instructional materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the AHA. Any fees charged for such a course, except for a portion of fees needed for AHA course materials, do not represent income to the AHA.
